What is a Visa?

A Viisa is an indication that a person is authorised to enter the country which "issued" the visa, subject to permission of an immigration official at the time of actual entry. The authorisation for Ukraine, Russia and other CIS countries is a document endorsed in the applicant's passport. The country issuing the visa typically attaches various conditions to the visa, such as the time that the visa is valid, the period that the person may stay in the country, whether the visa is valid for more than one visit, etc. The possession of a visa is not in itself a guarantee of entry into the country that issued it, and a visa can be revoked at any time.

A visa does not generally give a person any rights beyond the right to enter a country and remain there. Anything beyond those basic entitlements requires special permits, such as a residency permit or work permit.

Many countries require possession of a valid passport and visa as a condition of entry for foreigners, though there exist exemptions. Visas are associated with the request for permission to enter (or exit) a country.

What is Visa Support (a.k.a LetTer of invitation)?

Visa Support is a document that is often used to help a foreign citizen gain a tourist visa to enter another country.

A Visa Support Document can often be a deciding factor in a government's decision to issue or not issue a visa. The letter of invitation is proof a visa applicant has a legitimate visiting interest in the country and gives the government assurances that one of its citizens is taking responsibility for the foreign visitor. Ukraine, Russia & other CIS Countries require visa applicants to have a person/organisation issue a visa support document prior to issuing a tourist visa.

PLEASE NOTE: Beyond Tours includes and supplies Visa Support Documentation for all Visa applications (excluding Business Visa's).
